Display your advertising message with high impact posters & banners
POSTERS
Posters are simply large scale displays of advertising messages,
most often placed outdoors. They can be used for exposure breadth
(e.g. enticing passing traffic into your business) and for exposure
depth (e.g. placing a poster in a place where you know your
customers will be such as a club).
Posters are single minded and high impact. They generate awareness and build understanding of your brand through the message you choose. They are particularly good for news and tactical offers.
Few offices will be able to produce their own full size A0 posters in-house but with an A3 colour printer you can still create high impact, though smaller, designs and the poster production software available on some A4 printers will allow you to print 16 A4 pages that can then be combined to create one full size A0 poster.
Do's:
* Keep the message simple and single-minded. No-one will stop and
read lots of text.
* Use striking visuals and large fonts to capture the reader's
interest.
* Think about the location of your poster and the frame of mind of
the reader. How can you use this to your advantage? Are you trying
to help them to do something or stopping them from doing
something?
Don'ts:
* Don't overcrowd the
poster.
* Don't use small fonts. No one will be close enough to read them.
If in doubt test the size of font by standing where your customer
will be and see if you can read it yourself.
* Don't forget the call to action - what is it that you want the
reader to do? Make the action you want the customer to take, very
clear and large.
BANNERS
Banners fulfil much the same function as a poster. They offer a different format for your message and through their size and unusual shape can add significant impact to your message.
Banners are an excellent way to advertise or promote on your premises, drawing attention to special promotions or news.
Do's:
* Keep the message clear and simple in large type.
* Use different sizes of banner to complement each other.
Don'ts:
* Don't forget to be creative. Banners can be used to pass on more
than just a brand or company name.
