Scan - Edit - then easily drag and drop into your favorite software application. It's easy with PaperPort!
Once you have scanned your document into PaperPort you can edit your documents with a wide range of software. Compatible programs for editing your documents will be listed at the bottom of the PaperPort desktop. From here you can drag and drop files onto any of the software icons and edit the document accordingly. Here are a few examples........
Word
If you drag a document into Word the
PapaerPort software will automatically analyse any text within the
document using a feature called 'OCR' (Optical Character
Recognition). Once in word you can edit the text.

Paint
By dragging an image into the 'Paint' application (or similar), you
can edit the colours, contrast, and more of your image.

Excel
If you have lost a soft copy of a spreadsheet,
you can scan it into paperport, then drag it into Excel. The OCR
feature will analyse the data within the spreadsheet and adjust it
within Excel accordingly. It's not 100% accurate, but it will save
a great deal of time having to retype in each and every
character.

Email
Drag and drop you document from PaperPort onto your email icon and
your email will automatically open a new email and attach your
document.
To add an icon to the PaperPort 'Send to bar' simply:
Right click on the bar.
Select 'Send To bar' - 'New program link'.
Select the program type, for example if you wanted to add a link to Adobe Photshop you would select 'Image Program, accepts image files', then select Next.

Select Browse and navigate to the location of the software. This will usually be in the 'Program files' folder. for example Program files/ Adobe/ Photoshop. Select 'Open'.
Select Next. If you wish you may now change the name that will represent the software on the 'Send To bar'. The default is usually good enough though.
Select the file types that you would like to be able top drag and drop into this application.

Select Next - Then next again -Then the resolution that you would the application to accept. A good range would be 1 to 600. Select Next.
Now choose an icon to represent this software in the paperport 'Send to bar'. Usually the programs own is a good option so that you can easily recognise it, select 'An icon from the program'- Next.
